RATING OF SHORT TERM EFFECTS:
0 1 2 3 4
no impact minimal impact moderate impact strong impact very strong impact
REASONS FOR THE RATING OF SHORT TERM EFFECTS:
Ecstasy rated a 3 in short term effects because effects such as chills and confusion do not have a large impact on the user. Ecstasy would have rated a 2 if all of the effects were similar to these but because there is risk of death due to increased heart rate, dehydration, depression, and hyperthermia it was rated a 3. This drug also produces very many effects; this could be very detrimental to the user. Therefore this drug has a strong impact. Ecstasy did not rate a 4 because some of the effects are very pleasurable such as empathy and sociability. Also there are very few serious effects making ecstasy rate a 3 rather than a 4. This is why Ecstasy rated a 3 in short term effects.
